My Reading Coach side-by-side error

My Reading Coach (MRC) is a server based program that was launched in 1998 and will have its life cycle ended in 2015. MindPlay has discontinued selling MRC and Technical support for MRC will end December 31, 2015.  You may continue to use the MRC product, but technical support, lost disks, reimaged computers, lost licenses, etc. will no longer be supported.  For information about the new cloud-based version, MindPlay Virtual Reading Coach (MVRC), launched in 2012, is available at www.mindplay.com .  Thank you.

The “side-by-side” error is a Windows error.  Installation of the Microsoft Visual C redistributable, followed by the reinstallation of My Reading Coach can resolve this.  Perform the following steps:
  1. Uninstall the My Reading Coach from the Workstation.
  2. On the install disk, open the Installs folder, then open the ISSetupPrerequisites folder.
  3. If you are using a 32 bit version of Windows, open the folder:
    1. {B5CE8D23-0F1B-4AD1-9E88-614A6B1141EE}
      In the folder, double click on the file vcredist_x86.exe and follow the onscreen prompts.
  4. If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows, open the folders folder:
    1. {B5CE8D23-0F1B-4AD1-9E88-614A6B1141EE} In the folder, double click on the file vcredist_x64.exe and follow the onscreen prompts.
    2. {3DF79200-E996-42C4-9281-80025CAE97AB} In the folder, double click on the file vcredist_x86.exe and follow the onscreen prompts.
  5. Once you have completed the above steps, re-install the My Reading Coach onto the Workstation
